Who invented the Ambulance?
The Emergence of life saving locomotive.
Ambulances first began to appear on the Nepoleonic battlefields of France in 1792.It was invented by the surgeon,Dominique-jean Larrey(1766-1842),who had grown frustrated with regulations requiring him to stay to the back. After observing how the mobility of the French artillery helped it to quickly disengage from an advancing enemy, larrey proposed to the military hierarchy what he called an Ambulance volunte,or "flying ambulance",that would follow the artillery into battle and tend to the wounded where they fell.
Larry devised a wheel carriage driven by horse with a central compartment able to carry two patients comfortably on leather-covered horsehair mattress;windows on either side provided good ventilation.
There were also other types of ambulances driven by Camels.
